Hi Everyone! I know, there hasn't been an update in a month, sorry about that. And it is my fault, I've had Str8mayb's story sitting on my desktop for a while now...like since the 9th of last month. Sorry!

On a sad note, we mourn the loss of ACFan's 17 year old nephew Danny, who passed on to the next world on the 28th of April, 2008.

Okay, I have a few issues that I need to address here today so let me not waste any time. The First issue, many of you have sent me emails regarding where Roland's stories have vanished to. Yes, they have been taken off the site. Why? Because Roland asked me to and I won't go any more into it then that. If you still want to read his stories you can find them at http://www.storylover.us. If you're going to email me nasty comments then don't bother, they will be ignored. If you have emailed me asking what happened then this is your reply, I won't be replying to the emails unless I really need to. Second, there are a few of you that have signed up for the mailing list and may not be getting the newsletter. If you notice that a site update happens and you don't get an email from the asylum warden within 12 hours then please check to make sure you are not blocking us. We have been getting a good number of emails bounded back at us. Lastly, yes the new Add-On for the CSRD is ready but it won't be going up until the next mass CSU release. Hi Everyone! Sorry its been a few weeks since updates. That happens sometimes. But we've got some good stories updating tonight! You all will probably also notice that I'm messing with graphics again, changing some of the graphics on the site. I'm trying to make them seem more open and wild, something fitting for the Padded Room. Also, hopefully for Christmas we will have the next Add-On for the Clan Short Roster Database out, I don't want to tell you what it's going to be yet but I know its something that a lot of you have been asking for since day one! Some time in the next week there will also be a bug fix update for the Felis Character Roster Program, a few small things were brought to my attention and so we'll be fixing them and getting that out (nothing major though so don't worry). Hello everyone! For those of you that missed it there was an update to the Clan Short Roster Program. No it wasn't a program update, just a character file update. The CSRD family system isn't looking so good I'm sorry to say. It's just getting to the point were it's too much information to keep track of in this one program. It's also asking a lot of the authors to take time from them that could be spent writing just to give us updated information on family trees. It might still make it but we'll see. Sorry. Some of you may have also noticed that I've created a new banner for the site along with new buttons for the main navigation. I'm tring to make the buttons easier to read as well as look really cool. Hey there everyone, isn't this exciting! Updates two weeks in a row! Well anyway, as I mentioned in the first section I've finally gotten around to linking ACFan's Memories (both part 1 and part 2), hopefully I'll get Jeff P.'s Sentenced to Life up next week but we'll see. Also, Caleb Wilson's David Nearly 13 will start going up next week as well so that gives you something to look forward to! We are also working on adding a new section to the Clan Short Roster Database to keep track of partners, parents, siblings, and children. It's in beta right now and is going well so hopefully it'll be just a few weeks before that's released. I'd also like to note to those that get the Padded Room Newsletter, yeah you guys didn't get a Newsletter last week when we updated. That was a mistake on our part, so sorry about that. Some of you may have also noticed that we cleaned up the main page a little breaking everything into Currently Active Stories and Completed/Archived Stories. We did this to try and make it easier to tell what's been updated, what's completed, and what we don't expect to ever be finished (those are the archived ones). I suppose I should be saying something important here but I really haven't got much to say this time around. I'm working on the Felis Roster Program again, I know there haven't been any updates or bug fixes to it in a while so I'm sitting down when I have some time and doing some fixing and adding. I've got some really cool ideas that I'd like to try out on it including being able to check for updates to story lists that you may have downloaded for other authors. That'll of course mean that the authors will have to do just a little more to make the lists available but nothing hard, the program will do most of it for them. For those of you that are not familiar with the Felis Roster Program you can find it here . It's like a public version of the Clan Short Roster Database, letting you keep track of all the characters in any given story. Authors with many stories can even add all their characters to one file and then use the search by story function to sort to just the characters for the story they need. Anyway, that's all I've got to say this time around, I'll let you all know if I get any updates actually out for the program.

Although it might take my editor a little time to get it edited, which while I'm at it I want to thank my editor for Ark. The Story Lover edits all my chapters and he does a fantastic job. Okay well first up, thanks to all the readers who wrote in asking if everything was doing okay. Yeah, doing just fine here...I guess. Most of the wait on updating was waiting for us to get moved onto our new server, our last host wouldn't give us information that belonged to us so it took us more time then we wanted it to take. But after we did actually get moved I personally didn't have the time to sit down and do the updates. I just started a new job and I've been too tired. Going from something that requires me to just sit around and moving to a job where I'm running around an entire park fixing tech stuff is a bit of a change on my system and I'm still adapting. So I'm sorry for not getting the updates up earlier but I've been busy.

Other Story News:
Most of you know about the Clan Short Roster Program, and how it helps you keep track of all the characters in the crazy CSU. Well what if we were to tell you that every author can now have a version of that program that would allow them to create files to keep track of their characters. Introducing the the Felis Character Roster Program. It allows you to create encrypted lockable files to give out to readers or just gives you a nice, neat program to keep track of all your characters in. It saves as a .fcrp file that can be opened by this program again later and if the file is locked it makes it so no one can edit it unless they have the password. It also allows you to export the file as a text file if you would rather give out your character information that way. It can be found at the Felis Project Website under programs. It even has a downloadable help file :)

Most of you know about the Clan Short Roster Program, and how it helps you keep track of all the characters in the crazy CSU. Well what if we were to tell you that every author can now have a version of that program that would allow them to create files to keep track of their characters. Introducing the the Felis Character Roster Program. It allows you to create encrypted lockable files to give out to readers or just gives you a nice, neat program to keep track of all your characters in. It saves as a .fcrp file that can be opened by this program again later and if the file is locked it makes it so no one can edit it unless they have the password. It also allows you to export the file as a text file if you would rather give out your character information that way. It can be found at the Felis Project Website under programs. It even has a downloadable help file :)

Tonight Akeentia has Ark chapter 12 for us and boy is it LONG! I think this is the longest chapter Akeentia's ever written!

Just when you thought The Clan Short Universe couldn't throw you any more twists and turns along the way, somehow this group of Authors decided to add a detour along the way. Confused? Me too, but I'll try to explain...

As of Memories Part 2 Chapter 7 there is a split that has occurred in the Clan Short Universe Timeline. This split was caused by the events that occurred in this chapter as well as a few of the other CSU stories. As you'll read, the split broke the Clan Short Universe into two separate paths; one where the Clan has changed the future drastically and caused a new path for the timeline, and the second where the original timeline is continued. Memories and it's current crossovers will follow the new timeline while the Enterprise Tour Series will follow the original timeline.

This means that as both "Parallel Dimensions" progress, the future being created will progressively become more different with each and every step taken by any and all characters within the universe. Meaning they all found a way to make us read Double the cliffhangers per character... Um... Maybe we should be apologizing instead of explaining... [G]

Each story will be making an announcement, or events within the story's chapters that follow will let you know which dimensional path they are following.

Well what can I say, we have more updates tonight. This makes three nights in a row! First off Chapter 9 of Daryn's story Life Starts Again is up. It's an amazing chapter, so go check it out! This is our first week open and at the moment we only have a few stories available. However, we do have quite a collection of quotes. Each time I update I will post my opinion of the stories that are being posted (although most of the time the story will most likely be mine). Every News update from now on will include all of the following categories: Story Reviews, Quote of the Week, and Writing Questions.

Most of these categories are self-explanatory. The last category is Writing Questions. If you have any questions about writing, anything at all, then you can sent me your questions and I WILL find the answer. Then I will post both question and answer in the Writing Questions section which will be located here in the News section. All questions can be sent to Here, subject "Writing Question."
